USPA NEWS - The Conservative Juan Manuel Moreno Bonilla took possession this Friday as president of the regional Government of Andalusia (South of Spain), the first in 36 years that is not Socialist. Although the Socialist Party won the regional elections held on December 2, 2018, the union of the Conservative Popular Party, the Centrist Citizens and the extreme right formation Vox gave the regional Presidency to the Conservative candidate, who broke the Socialist hegemony in this way for almost four decades.
Moreno Bonilla opens a new historical stage in Andalusia, where Socialists have governed for 36 years despite corruption, the strike that hinders the regional development of Andalusia and the poverty of this territory in Southern Spain. The Conservative candidate is president of Andalusia thanks to the votes of the 12 deputies of Vox, formation of extreme right that, for the first time, obtains parliamentary representation and defends the unity of Spain, the end of the regions, the repeal of the Law of Historical Memory - instrumentalized by the left from its birth to condemn the Francoism and bless the Republicans who lost the civil war waged between 1936 and 1939 - and the repeal of the Law on Gender Violence, which in Spain blames men for their sex as responsible for the inequality, mistreatment and murders of women who, according to the left, are registered in the country, and that an independent observer would question.
The new president of the Andalusian regional government said during his inauguration that "I want to embody a new Presidency that takes root in the love of our land, in the awareness of its richness, its beauty and also its diversity. A Presidency of Andalusia, for Andalusia." Juan Manuel Moreno Bonilla announced that "employment is our great collective challenge and the great commitment of my Presidency. Employment as the foundation of equality and the guarantee of the freedom of the people. Employment as an exponent of an economy that must be strong and competitive. Employment as a pillar that sustains the welfare and services of citizens."
During the act of taking possession the hymns of Andalusia and Spain were heard, at a time when the unity of Spain is in danger. Moreno Bonilla affirmed categorically that the Andalusians "are Spain and we are going to defend Spain against any attack, however strong it may be, with the strength of our convictions and the strength of our autonomous community. Let no one doubt that this Presidency of the Junta de Andalucía will maintain an active belligerence with those who want to divide our country and divide the Spaniards."
"I want my government to have the institutional height and commitment of a great Government, headed by President Mariano Rajoy [the former Prime Minister, present at the ceremony along with the current leader of the Conservatives, Pablo Casado] and had as Vice President Soraya Saenz de Santamaría," added the new Andalusian president. "In very difficult times, his good work, the reformist decision and intelligence were an insurance for Andalusia. Institutional cooperation is a value and a strength."
Conciliator, as was also on Tuesday and Wednesday during the investiture debate, Moreno Bonilla addressed youth: "In this effort of concord I want to appeal directly to young Andalusians. My Presidency will look them in the eye to tell them they are important; it is more, fundamental for this society and deserve the opportunities that until now have not had," affirmed. And in reference to former Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy, he concluded: "As a tribute to a great president of Spain, President Rajoy, I want to end by saying that my aspiration is that when my presidency comes to an end, when the Andalusians decide, to be able to affirm that it has been an honor to leave an Andalusia better than the one I found."
