The argument that "Life is a gift from God" implies that the author is freely exercising her first amendment right which states "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion". To affirm one constitutional amendment while choosing to ignore another is not only a weak argument but hypercritical.
Risk for democracy
Laws relating to the termination of pregnancy vary greatly from country to country, from absolute prohibition to depenalisation in some cases and in some countries with the circumstance of permission. Now sadly the variance seems to be the case in these supposedly United States. Newly drafted and passed states take direct aim at long-standing Supreme Court precedent.

The 1973 landmark ruling in Roe v. Wade, 410 U.S. 113 recognized that the right to abortion is fundamental liberty protected by the Fourteenth Amendment of the Constitution. Since Roe, the Court has repeatedly reaffirmed the Constitution´s protection for this essential liberty, which guarantees each individual the right to make personal decisions about family and childbearing.

Conservative states around the country, like the most recent cases in Alabama and Mississippi, have moved a conservative state legislature to pass restrictive abortion laws aimed at giving the Trump appointed majority Supreme Court the opportunity to overturn Roe v. Wade. Such decisions on a state level violate the democracy their lawmakers swear to defend and ignore the constitution that all states in the union vow to uphold.

Is it right for a woman who's been raped to be forced to carry a baby to term, and forced to include this child in all aspects of her life planning? To say life is a gift from God, suggests we need to follow His commandments no should be wasting it. Many parents have babies when they are in no condition to become or be parents. Many have children when they simply don't want to, inadvertently causing a miserable life for both the parent and the child. Will that child become a miserable adult? Became a criminal, rapist or murderer?

When you have a baby, you should choose to have a child. Studies show that a child that is raised in a healthy environment has a better head start in life. The right to not continue/have a pregnancy should be a decision, just as the right to raise and love a child.
Our founding fathers empowered the people with personal freedoms, free from the tyranny from which they were personally enslaved by a monarchy. It is our given right to choose our own path and make our own decision. It is the job of the government to protect our rights, not to dictate which ones we can practice. Applying my rights guaranteed in the first amendment, I say "don't like abortion, don't have one".
