Segolene Royal supports the initiative of elected representatives of European cities to strengthen European regulations on emission of air pollutants from vehicles of the Council of Environment Ministers on March 4 an opportunity to discuss this issue to ensure a rapid revision of the regulatory.
Segolene Royal supports the initiative of elected representatives of European cities to strengthen European regulations on emission of air pollutants from vehicles of the Council of Environment Ministers on March 4 an opportunity to discuss this issue to ensure a rapid revision of the regulatory framework of the approval, which allows to raise the ambition to make transparent decisions taken and that gives member states and parliamentarians the opportunity to have a political debate on the emission standards of air pollutants from vehicles. To empower car manufacturers on this issue and accelerate technical progress in pollution control, the Minister has set up a 100 vehicles measurement campaign. In view of the differences between the results in the laboratory and on the road the first 50 vehicles, improvements by manufacturers to ensure that emissions in real driving conditions comply with Euro 6 standards are consistent. European regulations on vehicle registrations and market surveillance must always be reinforced.-------------------------------------------------------------------------
As Environment Minister and President of COP21, Segolene Royal's priority remains the same:
- Massively deploy clean vehicles, electric and hydrogen,
- Setting up the premium of EUR 10 000 for the purchase of an electric vehicle replacing a polluting diesel old
- Mandatory procurement of clean vehicles when renewing public fleets,
- Launching a call for proposals for a cheap electric vehicle;
- France has joined during the COP21 to the global initiative for electric mobility that aims to reach 20% of clean vehicles in the fleet in 2030. French Minister of Ecology
